Hello,

Thank you for contacting Guild Wars Support. We certainly do appreciate the update on the issue. You may want to consider posting any suggestions you may have regarding Superior Runes as they affect death penalty on one of many of the Guild Wars Fansite message boards. A compiled list can be found on the official Guild Wars website at http://guildwars.com/community/default.html. By posting on one of these message boards, other players can comment on your ideas, concerns, and suggestions, and Development Team members are able to catch up on what the community wants to see in Guild Wars. Fansite forums make it easy and efficient for us to learn from those playing the game.

Thank you for your efforts in assisting us to create the best gaming experience possible.

Regards,

The Guild Wars Support Team

Okay, one last comment and then I'll let it go. I understand now how acquiring dp will put my max health below zero, and I'm glad to know about how the runes work now. I just want to say that the game should either make it a failed mission or leave me with 1 hit point, instead of getting stuck in an infinite loop. With how well the rest of the game was designed, I would hope that this was just a small oversight and that something will be done about it eventually. But, it is definately a shippable bug, so I'm not too concerned. I'll be sure to boast to all my guildmates about how I found a way to make my max health negative. ^_^ Thanks for your help, have a good one- -Vazor Strafe

Hello,
Thanks for contacting Guild Wars Support. Keep in mind that death penalty percentage of health taken off is based on your health prior to any health degradation due to runes, etc. So what you are describing seems perfectly normal based on the amount of superior runes you have equipped and your death penalty. If you have any further questions or comments, feel free to contact us.

With no armor and no death penalty, my max health is 480 and my max energy is 20. 480 * 40% = 192, -(75*3) = -33!
I will be careful with my other characters, sure. It's too bad it makes the game essentially crash so you can't complete a mission, though.

Hello,
Thanks for contacting Guild Wars Support. Taking all armor off before any death penalty or fights, what is your health at? Having too many Superior Runes equipped will cause exactly what you are describing to take place. Thus the reason for the health degradation to your character. You may need to select carefully what runes you want to be Superior and what you want to be Major and Minor, to keep your health degradation to a minimum. If you have any further questions or comments, feel free to contact us.

Well, you're right I do have a big hit on my health with my runes. Here are the details (in order from mask to boots):
1 superior domination rune, -75 health
1 minor domination rune
1 superior fast casting rune, -75 health
no rune (+15 armor while casting spells)
1 superior inspiration rune, -75 health
These are all 60 base armor from Droknar's Forge, Infused. I have the Imposing Mask, and the bonuses on the other pieces of armor are +Energy and the boots are Rogue's Footwear.

Some other details that might help-
My max health before I got into the last fight was only 49, so I switched weapons to increase my max health. The stats on the two weapons are:Before: Domination Cane 10-20 + Inscribed Chakram Energy +8, Energy +5 while health is above 75% After: Hale Inscribed Staff of Defense 10-18, Energy +9, and Health +18, Armor +4
Here are my attributes:
Fast Casting 14 (normally 11)
Domination 16 (normally 12)
Inspiration 9 (normally 6)
....the rest are 0.

Hello,
Thanks for contacting Guild Wars Support. Please look at your characters armor, how many runes and what kind of runes do you have applied to your armor? Having too many major and superior runes equipped degrade the total amount of health your character has, and then on top of that having death penalty applied will make your health extremely low and possibly make your character die upon resurrection. Please get back to us with details on your armor so we can look into this more. If you have any further questions or comments, feel free to contact us.

Help! I am stuck near the end of the Thunderhead Keep mission and the NPC monks cannot rez me! They try over and over again, but it pops a "-0" above my character's head and I die again and again. I am solo with 7 npc's, I have -59 death penalty, and I was hit by spectral agony, among other things, while attacking the Jade Bow and Jade Armors. I am all infused and have been able to be rezzed before, but then I didn't have this much dp. Also, this has happened to me once before in another area- I believe I also had some heavy dp then, and was by myself with 7 npc's, so that's why I'm reporting it now. I will leave my character in this state if it will help so you can figure out the bug. I know you're probably not available right now, so if I don't hear from you right away then just let me know when and I will try to reproduce it for you.

So, to reiterate the point: When someone gets to negative max health, I just want to say that the game should either make it a failed mission or leave me with 1 hit point, instead of getting stuck in an infinite loop. Which would you prefer?

Yea, i think thats wierd, how you can get negative health, cause surely your dead. And if you cant be ressed its kinda messed up. I agree, 1hp. or sommat.

strange.....
i was in a group with a 55hp monk and they died... a lot.
at the end they had like 14hp left (sweet for UW soloing :P) and that was with 60%dp
we used normal res spells and she ressed normally.

maybe it is fixed.....

When I made my N/W, I bought new armor right after the Searing. I then bought superiors as a joke (three), and put them on my armor. I was amazed at what happened.

I could run around spamming my health bar, all it said was:
My Health is 1 of 0.

Anytime anyone attempted to attack me, even if they missed, I instantly died. It was hilarious
